GBP15,000 floods into Appeal
Three months after The Press’s Guardian Angels Appeal hit its £300,000 target, another £15,000 has flooded in.
Lives of young patients are already being saved by the new Guardian Angels unit at York Hospital, which offers high- dependency care to York’s sickest children.
More than 60 children, suffering from conditions such as meningitis and respiratory problems, have been treated in the new unit since it opened in August.
We celebrated reaching the appeal’s £300,000 target in October and, two months on, the grand total has shot up to £315,000.
The appeal has now been given official charity status to enable fundraising to continue to help with the upkeep of the new Guardian Angels unit. This week, a £1,000 cheque from Poppleton Road Working Men’s Club gave the charity a welcome festive boost.
